If you happen to see a barefoot guy who looks like the one in this photo wandering about the upper mountains, he might be able to share some of the meagre knowledge he has :)

Be careful what you wish for though, as the universe has a way of giving one exactly what one wants. Many a time have I encountered someone who cheerily roars 'I wanna get fucked up' only to ingest a plant or two and get exactly what they ask for. Excitement can be a scary thing!

haha i will definitely keep an eye out. i would be very keen to maybe organise something at one time or another, a sensei i feel would be both sensible and interesting. it is also less for me about getting fucked up, and more about having a new experience. but don't get me wrong, getting fucked up on the occasion can also be a beautiful thing. where abouts in the lovely mountains are you?

I hear the strain of obtusifolia in the blue mountains is noted for its richness in aromatics

itd be nice to get some seeds of that out there. not just in Oz, but worldwide

im def looking for a cold hardy variant of obtusifolia. the ones i have are killed by moderate frost

i just love those gorgeous fat leaves with the blunt tips and intergre of green into red

I can recommend a fine dojo in Katoomba if it is a sensei you seek :D I'm usually keen for meeting new people :)

As for what can be found in the mountains(I have a lot to learn in this department), at the right time of year the Blue Mountains are mushroom heaven.

I'm no expert.
But if I had a mushroom season that only 'recently' passed ...
I'd add hessian-cloth ($3/m 2 at bunnings/mitre 10) and water and hope for the best.
(IME climate, moisture control are key to elongated mushroom harvests)

Otherwise, just another good reason to keep a few 'spore prints' ...
A pet-project with the hope of sustaining some sort of fungal harvest
Till next season.

Aslan you could make some fine incense out of extracting certain Wattles and mixing with passionflower herbage.

I believe quite a lot grows in the bush around a certain skateboarding-genius-Jungle-man's house? Not certain if it is a particularly aromatic type or not, but quite possibly.
