miracle grow:) about third strength every second watering, my theory is any unabsorbed nutrients get washed out in the water wash so you dont risk damaging the roots:) and i let them dry out fully between waterings, miracle grow is super under rated, its basically free and i was using it in my early hydroponic days and it solely provides everything you need to make a plant:P, wonderful stuff:)

just for the record, if your judging the caespitosa-ness on that fact that is is pupping shitloads after grafting, ive seen normal varieties do the same thing when grafted.

Even when grafted to Trichocereus? I know Pereskiopsis is known to cause profuse pupping.

how big does a pup have to be before you can get it to root and grow on its own?

IME there a min and a maximum size

the lower defined by reserves to reestablish
the upper by the tendencyto not root

roughly... i think

10c piece diameter is about right
