Hi Everyone,

welcome to australian ethnobotany, the rebirth.

We now have a home, and we would like to invite you to participate. I reckon we need a housewarming, so lets get to it and start getting some great threads happening.

To those who are already registered i hope everything is in place where you left it. If you do find something missing, like smilies or more importantly avatars, then let me know.

If you happen to find any error messages do let me know. I am guessing they will be rare, but in the IT world it is easy to overlook things, especially at 1.49 am in th emorning.

Anyway, Enjoy.

Cheers, Obtuse

great thanks for that obtuse!
No more eczema ads!!!

forum is still a bit slow, has to be worn in I guess...
It will, it will....

i think we should put a lock on the old forum with the url of this one here, to avoid confusion, otherwise half the people will still be using the old one...

wahey!!! well done, looks fantastic.

I've already asked Gom and he's cool with it, but before I go ahead is it cool if I design the banner? If so, what colours do ppl suggest, what themes? Any input appreciated.

again...muchos gracias guys, excellent work.

And re funds...let's get this pay pal thingy happening...I reckon I can put in a few dollars a week at least to cover costs.
Something wonderfull is going to happen

Hi everyone,

wandjina it would great to have you design the banner. I do a lot web development work, but i'm not very good at graphic design, so to have others from the community contribute would be great.

Glad to see everyone is enjoying the site so far.

cheers, Obtuse

yeah that's been like that since i first designed the site:
If you're not logged in, it's nice and green, if you're logged in, it disappears...
well let's have wandjina design something nice and we'll put that there instead

well done! and i'm eagerly awaiting the paypal thing, too. i think we should all pull together and help fund this for ourselves so that gom and obtuse and anyone else who is working the site doesn't have to wear the cost.

Yar, this is great. It's cool in that the original site was up for less than a month, already had 50 members, and it's evolved to a better format/url etc. This one's very slick. While i miss the Bosche image ((was that the 'temptation of St Anthony'?), it was a major pain in the arse because it blocked a segment of the texts. It also seems that theres a consolidated width in the avatar margin, which makes for a tidy presentation.

Obtuse seems to be behind some of the migration project along with Gom, so my hat goes off to you both equally. Its only early days, and posts arent as regular yet, but hell theres only 50 members (in a short space of time). Now ith the easy URL, meethinks that this is bound to become a popular place in time. We are all the pioneers in some way, and hopefully we can keep it fresh enough to attract newbies. And allow AE to stand up and it's own entity, not affiliated with other sites of similar natures.
